Auttiköngäs National Park
Auttiköngäs nature trail is a real hikers’ paradise which takes us deep into primeval taiga forest.
This wonderful ring trail is 3,5km in the middle of the Arctic purest nature!
Auttiköngäs has been an old mine and nowadays is part of a forest protection program to protect old-growth forests in Northern Finland being the home for 200 years old forest: the area has stayed in its natural state for centuries and the old taiga forest provides great scenery and authentic Lappish landscapes.
During our hike, we will reach a variety of scenic spots where we will be rewarded with an enchanting perspective into the valley down below and relaxing silence all around us.
Our journey continues along the great canyon of Auttiköngäs.
